How to Setup Email in Microsoft Outlook (Windows) (POP3)

Setup Instructions

  1. Open Outlook.
  2. Go to File → Add Account.
  3. Select Manual setup or additional server types → Next.
  4. Choose POP → Next.
  5. Enter the following:
  6. - Your Name: Your Name
  7. - Email Address: your-name@example.com
  8. - Account Type: POP3
  9. - Incoming mail server: pop.example.com
  10. - Outgoing mail server (SMTP): smtp.example.com
  11. - User Name: your-name@example.com

  13. Click More Settings → Outgoing Server → check My outgoing server (SMTP) requires authentication → Use same settings as my incoming mail server.
  14. Go to Advanced tab:
  15. - Incoming server (POP3): 995, encryption SSL/TLS
  16. - Outgoing server (SMTP): 587, encryption STARTTLS
  17. Click OK → Next → Finish.
