How to Setup Email in Mozilla Thunderbird (IMAP)

Setup Instructions

  1. Open Thunderbird.
  2. If first run, it will prompt for account. Otherwise: File → New → Existing Mail Account.
  3. Enter:
  4. - Your name: Your Name
  5. - Email address: your-name@example.com
  6. - Password: Your Password (see magic link)
  7. Click Continue.
  8. If Thunderbird fails to detect settings, click Manual config.
  9. Set:
  10. - Incoming: IMAP, server imap.example.com, port 993, SSL SSL/TLS, authentication Normal password
